Lewis Hamilton

We are all very proud at Zeus Engineering of the dedication shown by our current Apprentice, Cfn Lewis Hamilton on his journey towards life as an Army Reserve Soldier.

Lewis attended a 3 week combined basic training course at the Army Training Unit, Edinburgh, which he successfully completed on Sunday 26 July 2020.

A fast paced course which is both physically and mentally demanding with many objectives including:

Weapon training

Loaded marches

Physical development

Fieldcraft

Including: an overnight exercise – embracing: intro to night training, constructing a shelter, cooking in the field, personal hygiene, maintaining weapons, clothing and specialist equipment, personal camouflage, concealment, working as a team, leadership skills and much more!

A great commitment to our country – we are so proud to have this fine young man as part of our team.

CONGRATULATIONS Lewis! Fantastic achievement and good luck with your phase 2 training from all the team at the AGZ Group!

 

 

  

IOSH Managing Safely

AGZ Group are pleased to announce that Stephen Hasson, of Argon Engineering, Christopher Cupples of Zeus Engineering and Graham Fair, of Gillrick Metalwork, have successfully completed the IOSH Managing Safely Course.

This certification demonstrates AGZ Group’s continuous improvement strategy and commitment to employee development and workplace Health and Safety.

Please note that Argon Engineering, Gillrick Metalwork and Zeus Engineering are all open again and operating with a skeleton staff to process essential work for key industries.

Following Government guidelines relating to COVID-19, Gillrick Metalwork has now closed until further notice.

Argon Engineering will close on Friday 27th March, after completion of essential work, until further notice.

Zeus Engineering will remain open and operate with a skeleton staff as we continue to process essential work for the transport industry.

These are very uncertain times for everyone and we must ensure the safety of our workforce, their families, customers and suppliers during this time.

The situation will be monitored and reviewed daily and further updates will be posted on our website and social media.

FLT Refresher Course

AGZ Group employees being put through their paces during another recent FLT refresher course.

AGZ Group have invested in RTITB Instructor training for one of our employees, allowing us to reduce training costs by carrying out our own in-house FLT training for our operators.

AGZ Group are committed to investing in training for all our employees, ensuring high competence levels and lower risks in our operations.

CSWIP Visual Welding Inspectors Course

Congratulations to Stevie Gilchrist of Argon Engineering, who has successfully completed the CSWIP Visual welding inspectors course and became an Associate member of the Welding Institute.

Argon Engineering provide structural steelwork services and in order to do so legally we must be accredited to BS EN 1090 – 1.

Having our own on site Responsible Welding Coordinator to inspect our welding procedures allows us to provide a full quality package and CE marking of our components to our customers as per the standard requirements.

This training demonstrates AGZ Groups willingness to invest in our own employees competences and provide the quality of service our customers require – we wish Stevie all the best in his new role as RWC!

SVQ Completion

Argon Engineering are pleased to announce that our contracts Manager, Stevie Gilchrist has successfully completed an SVQ in Construction Site Management: Building & Civil Engineering.

Stevie has worked over a couple of years to achieve this qualification, through a mixture of day release and on the job evidence.

This qualification covers areas such as developing and maintaining good working relationships; establishing, implementing and maintaining systems for managing health, safety and welfare; monitoring project activities; organising, controlling and monitoring supplies of materials; and controlling project quantities and costs.

This demonstrates Stevie’s competence in controlling all aspects of site projects and ensures Argon Engineering delivers the highest possible service to its customers.
